2020 Alvaro L. Martins Scholars

Created in honor of The ELC’s founding member, the first president and CEO of The Council and an alumnus of Howard University, the Alvaro L. Martins scholarship is open to high achieving undergraduate black male students attending one of the nation’s top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Fourteen (14) scholarship awardees received a one-time scholarship in the amount of $12,000 each to assist with educational expenses for the 2020-2021 academic year.

2020 Ann Fudge Scholars

Sponsored by The Phillips 66 Company

Named after the first woman chair of The ELC and former chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam Brands, the Ann Fudge Scholarship is open to high achieving undergraduate black female students attending one of the nation’s top HBCUs. Fourteen (14) scholarships awardees received a one-time scholarship in the amount of $12,000 per scholar to assist with educational expenses for the 2020-2021 academic year.

2020 Award for Excellence in Business Commentary

Sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company

Top undergraduate students are invited to compete in a national writing competition focused on business trends, issues and insights. Sponsored by The Coca-Cola Foundation, this scholarship program is open to high achieving undergraduate black students attending a four-year college or university. Twelve (12) scholarship awardees received a one-time scholarship ranging between $8,000 – $14,000 to assist with educational expenses for the 2020-2021 academic year.

2020 Linde Engineers of Tomorrow Scholars

Sponsored by Linde plc

This one-year scholarship was established to provide opportunities for high-performing, minority college students pursuing careers in engineering. The Linde Engineers for Tomorrow Scholarship is open to high-achieving undergraduate minority students currently attending a four-year college or university and pursuing a mechanical or chemical engineering degree. Five scholarship awardees received $12,000 each to assist with educational expenses for the 2020-2021 academic year.

2020 Nationwide's Future Leaders Scholars

Sponsored by Nationwide

This scholarship program, established with a donation from Nationwide, provides scholarship awards to high-achieving black students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, a commitment to community involvement, and who are pursuing a degree in business, insurance, or a related field at an accredited college or university. Ten scholarship awardees received a one-time, need-based scholarship in the amount of $12,000 each to assist with educational expenses for the 2020–2020 academic year.

2020 Bristol Myers Squibb HBCU Scholars

Sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb, this scholarship provides scholarship awards to high achieving black students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, a commitment to innovation and are pursuing a degree in Business or STEM at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Ten (10) scholarship awardees received a one-time scholarship in the amount of $10,000 each to assist with educational expenses for the 2020-2021 academic year.

This scholarship program will provide scholarship awards to high achieving black students attending Carnegie Mellon University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Howard University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University or Penn State University who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, a commitment to community involvement and are pursuing a degree in a STEM, Business Management, or a related field. Five scholarship awardees received $8,000 each to assist with educational expenses for the 2020-2021 academic year.
