The Alvaro L. Martins Scholarship was created in honor of The Executive Leadership Council’s first President and CEO and noted founding member. The Alvaro L. Martins Scholarship is open to ambitious undergraduate Black male students who are enrolled in an accredited four-year college including one of the nation’s historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Humphrey Boadi

College/University: Case Western Reserve University
Major: Computer Science
Award: 2023 Alvaro L. Martins Scholarship

Humphrey Boadi is majoring in Computer Science with minors in Finance and Applied Data Science at Case Western Reserve University. Humphrey is a dedicated member of the planning committee of the African American Club, where he contributes his time and efforts to promote cultural awareness and inclusivity on campus. Humphrey previously demonstrated his leadership skills as the Webmaster of the Future Business Leaders of America, showcasing his proficiency in web design and management. At Case Western Reserve University, Humphrey continues his involvement by being a part of the National Society of Black Engineers.

Jordan Jones

College/University: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Major: Political Science, Global Studies

Jordan Jones is a Global Studies and Public Policy major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jordan is interested in international politics and advocacy. As a Tar Heel, Jordan serves as First-Year Class Council member of the Black Student Movement and member of Campus Y. In addition to being a member of the UNC NAACP chapter, Jordan is currently works in UNC s Office of Global Affairs as a Global Development Assistant. Raised in Midlothian, Virginia, Jordan enjoys finding new music, outdoor activities, and enjoying time spent with friends and family.

Jonathan Randle

College/University: Virginia Tech
Major: Accounting

Jonathan Randle is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Information Systems, accompanied by a minor in Mandarin Chinese at Virginia Tech. Jonathan actively participates in various student organizations including the Black Student Union, Chinese Club, and serves as the treasurer of Delta Lambda Phi Fraternity. He has gained valuable experience as a Financial Planning and Analysis intern (FP&A) at Berkeley Research Group in Washington, DC. Furthermore, he is set to embark on an upcoming 2023 internship as an Embark Scholar Intern with KPMG in Mclean, VA. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a Master's degree in Accounting and Information Systems at Virginia Tech's graduate school, aiming to enhance his expertise in Accounting and Financial Planning while preparing for the Certified Public Accountant exam.

Jayvyn Wood is pursuing his Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business with a concentration in Marketing at Howard University. Jayvyn is on a one-way ticket to the top as the owner of his own publishing business, empowering storytellers in his community to become masters of their destined message. With a firm belief that entrepreneurship and leadership are inseparable, Jayvyn carves his path to triumph, guided by his personal maxim, "Above all, he aspires to not only be a dreamer but to live his dreams." Jayvyn's determination, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to making a positive impact exemplify his pursuit of excellence.
