The Dr. Price Cobbs Scholarship, generously supported by USAA, was created in honor of Dr. Price Cobbs, a long-term strategic advisor and veteran of the U.S. Army. This scholarship is open to ambitious undergraduate students who are enrolled in an accredited four-year college including one of the nation’s historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

This scholarship opportunity is open to rising sophomores.

Destiny Daniel

Destiny Daniel, an outstanding advocate and civic leader, is pursuing her degree in public relations at Howard University. Destiny's impressive resume boasts a wide range of experiences in the nonprofit sector. She has worked and interned at 12 different nonprofits, including esteemed organizations such as the African American Mayors Association and the United Nations Association. Destiny has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills by serving on nine executive boards. Notably, she has held the position of President of the Zeta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and served as an SGA Senator.

Arthur Green

Robert Kelly is an honors Finance major, planning on pursuing a double minor in Spanish and Strategic Legal and Management Communications from Long Island, NY. Professionally, Robert is interested in Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Real Estate. On campus, Robert serves as the Freshman Representative for the School of Business Executive Leadership Honors program. In addition, Robert is on the Speech and Debate team, a member of the Finance and Operations committee for his university's chapter of Scholars of Finance, and a member of the Finance and Investment club. Robert embodies moral character and fortitude and has demonstrated that he can successfully manage leadership positions while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Robert enjoys writing poetry, debating, and doing community service in his free time. After graduating, Robert intends on going to law school.

Lauren Legardy

Lauren Legardy is an Economics major from Flossmoor, Il attending Spelman College. During her first semester, Lauren became heavily involved in the Atlanta community by hosting different donation drives, packaging materials for National Conventions, and mentoring children at the local Elementary School. Ms. Legardy serves as the Events Director of Spelman’s Business organization, serves as an intern for SGA and is a scholar of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program. Last summer, she had the opportunity to participate in the Bain & Company FLA program and intern at Cleveland Avenue, where she expanded her network, presented a shark tank pitch, and gained insight into the finance department. She is a detail-oriented, organized, and interpersonal college student who aspires to work in the consulting and wealth management sector.

In addition to having his associate degree in Science, Devin has completed an internship at Delta Air Lines and won 2nd place in a Demand Forecasting Competition with Cisco. Raised in Sanford, North Carolina, Devin enjoys doing calisthenics, playing volleyball, and playing tennis in his free time. Devin plans to follow in his mother's footsteps and become a real estate investor one day.

Halia Morris is a marine and environmental science major attending Hampton University. Raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Halia was exposed to the STEM field at an early age. She is a member of the Freddye T. Davy Honors College, and has been selected for the dean’s list. Halia has also interned with the Office of Naval Research. Halia wants to use her degree in marine and environmental science to study ecology and evolution in marine environments, hoping to teach others about her work and inspire sustainable living. In her free time, Halia enjoys reading, traveling, podcasts, movies, and mediation.

Isaiah Thompson

Isaiah Thompson is from St. Louis, Missouri, and is an honors student attending Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. Isaiah enjoys learning about the environment, engaging in physical activities, and being involved in community service activities, which has motivated him to become an environmental engineer. He has aspirations to earn a doctorate degree in environmental engineering for conducting research and directly applying his studies to his work. With the knowledge he gleans throughout his academic and professional journey, he hopes to mitigate the effects of climate change, discover different ways to provide fresh water to disadvantaged communities, and create new ways to store renewable energy.

Zaria Osimetha, a Dallas, Texas native, is a student at the University of Southern California where she is majoring in psychology. Zaria earned a spot on the dean’s list and was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She is a four-time recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Awards for volunteering over 900 hours helping to fight food insecurity, serving the homeless, and mentoring at-risk children. She has served as Black Student Union President and as a Jack and Jill Regional Teen Vice-President. Zaria’s proudest accomplishment is her founding of a 300-member social justice organization. She was awarded a Princeton Prize in Race Relations Certificate of Accomplishment for her efforts to advance racial equity and foster positive race relations within her community.
