Sponsored by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), this scholarship is awarded to high-achieving undergraduate Black students enrolled in an accredited four-year college pursuing a degree in a business or STEM-related field.
Chidera Dimkpa
Chidera Dimkpa is an honors Business Marketing major at Howard University. During the past semester, Chidera served as a Marketing & Communication Intern at a consulting firm that specializes in working with nonprofits. Within the School of Business Executive Leadership Honors Program, Chidera has demonstrated her leadership abilities by taking on various roles and leading committees in finance, technology, law, and professional development. Chidera's interests extend to the field of Product Management, and she is particularly interested in exploring opportunities in finance, technology, marketing, and entertainment. This indicates her versatility and eagerness to dive into different industries and make a meaningful impact. She recognizes the importance of staying up to date with the latest trends and innovations and looks forward to traveling to different areas and countries to gain exposure to diverse fields and expand her knowledge and experience.
Kamaal Muhammad
Kamaal Muhammad is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at North Carolina A&T State University. His dedication to his field extends beyond his undergraduate studies, as he plans to further his education by obtaining a master's and doctorate in Computer Science. Kamaal is also an active member of 100 Black Men of America and the Midwest Aggies, two organizations that focus on empowering and supporting young individuals from underrepresented communities. Through these affiliations, he actively engages in community service activities in the Greensboro area. Kamaal's dedication to community service has been recognized through several awards in the Chicagoland area, highlighting his commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Tolulope Oluyadi
Tolulope Oluyadi is a Computer Science and Business Administration minor at Howard University, with a GPA of 3.3 from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She holds an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from Prince George’s Community College. Tolulope is a recipient of the Maryland Affiliate Rising Star of the NCWIT award, and the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship. She has completed internships at Amazon, where she developed applications, debugged and tested code, and collaborated on a Java-based data tracker, and at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she participated in a successful insurance case competition and built business acumen. Tolulope is a member of the Howard University Society of Woman Engineers and the SEO EDGE program, and she serves as the Black Wings Outreach Chair for Rewriting the Code. Her technical skills include C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, Linux, technical analysis, web development, and technical writing.
Lughan Ross
Lughan is a highly motivated and passionate software engineer, currently studying computer science at The Ohio State University. With a strong academic background and a competitive GPA, Lughan is dedicated to excelling in his studies and building a solid foundation in computer science. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of various programming languages and is proficient in using tools like Eclipse, showcasing his technical skills and ability to work with different software development environments. Beyond academic achievements, Lughan has gained valuable customer service experience at The Ohio State University Ticket Office. This experience has honed his problem-solving abilities and taught him how to adapt to new technologies and work within a team environment.
Peter Samura Jr.
Peter Samura Jr., is a driven and ambitious student at Howard University, majoring in Computer Engineering. Hailing from Prince George's County, Maryland, Peter is passionate about pursuing a career in the ever-evolving tech industry. Peter has gained valuable experience working in various tech spaces, including notable organizations like MITRE Corporation, where he contributed to cyber security initiatives, and Capital One, where he explored the realm of Product Management. To further his professional development, Peter actively participates in various career-related events, such as school career fairs and the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA). By engaging with industry professionals and attending these events, he expands his network and gains insights into potential career opportunities. In his leisure time, Peter enjoys watching basketball podcasts and playing video games.
