Sponsored by Synchrony, this scholarship is awarded to high-achieving undergraduate Black students enrolled who are enrolled in an accredited four-year college pursuing a degree in business, engineering, technology or related majors.

This scholarship is open to rising juniors and seniors.

Jayden Cartwright

College/University: Howard University
Major: Finance
Award: 2023 Synchrony Scholarship

Jayden Cartwright is a finance major at Howard University participates in extracurricular activities to accelerate his post-graduate career. As a student he holds apprenticeships with the following organizations: MLT (Management Leadership for Tomorrow), SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity), AltFinance, and Howard’s Center for Financial Excellence. He also serves in student government as an Office of Financial Advisor Staffer and assists the Executive Financial Advisor in the record keeping of the organization s $200K academic year budget. In November 2022, he was selected as one of 76 students from a pool of 1800+ applicants to participate in the Blackstone Diverse Leadership Program. Last summer Jayden worked as an intern for CBRE. July 2023 he will join DigitalBridge, a private equity firm, as a summer analyst.

Looking to the future, Bobby plans to continue his education and pursue a Master's in Business Administration. This desire for further education reflects his dedication to continuous learning and his aspiration to gain advanced knowledge and skills in the field of business. Bobby has a career interest in sales management.

Aniyah Lawrence

Aniyah Lawrence, an honors marketing major from Brooklyn, New York, is currently attending Howard University. Aniyah's pursuit of leadership development led her to participate in a leadership program at Johns Hopkins University School of Business. In addition to her academic pursuits, Aniyah completed a Project Destined Real Estate Internship, where she gained practical experience and knowledge in the real estate industry. Aniyah's involvement in Howard Women's Rugby showcases her passion for sports and her ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Her honors marketing major, combined with her practical experiences, positions her well for a successful career in the marketing industry.

Aimee's dedication to academic excellence led her to become a member of the PHI THETA KAPPA Honors Society, where she engaged with fellow high-achieving students and participated in various intellectual and service-oriented activities. Aimee is passionate about making a positive impact in her community. She dedicates her free time to volunteering with The African Women Network, where she virtually connects with and supports young girls who do not have access to formal education.

Gregory Seaton

Gregory Seaton is a diligent, attentive, and promising second-year student at Northwest Florida State College. As an aspiring economist, Gregory hopes to transfer to Lynn University and obtain a degree in Data Analytics. His work experience includes a data analytics job for health organizations, an internship program with a global insurance agency, and standardized test tutoring services. Gregory is an engaged member of his college through his involvement as a Vice-President in the African-American Student Association and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Outside of his academics, he strives to give back to others by volunteering at community centers, counseling at summer camps, and informing the African-American community about the benefit of financial literacy. Gregory is a 2022- 2023 College Board National Recognition Scholar and 2022-2023 High Honor Recipient who hopes to utilize his career path to provide resources and opportunities to underserved, neglected, and marginalized communities.
